A multi-tasking hero
When I first started working in beauty, there were a few products that I quickly realized would feature quite heavily in my career. One of them was Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré.
This French pharmacy beauty product is one of the best moisturizers for creating the perfect makeup base, soothing irritated skin and creating a smooth, firm and glowing complexion.
I discovered it over 10 years ago, but its popularity has remained the same. It has over 6,000 5* Amazon reviews, 10.1 million views on TikTok and is currently selling one every 13 seconds.
Undoubtedly, The moisturizer of choice for make-up artists around the world. I spotted this in the kit of almost every MUA backstage at most fashion weeks. Why; Because no matter what state the models’ skin is in – long hours, heavy makeup, lack of sleep don’t exactly make for the most flawless foundations – Embryolisse manages to diffuse every irritation and redness.
It wasn’t long before I started using it in my own skincare routine.
It is important to note that this is classified as a multipurpose product due to its boot capabilities. However, I wouldn’t call it a skincare makeup hybrid. It’s definitely a moisturizer that just preps your skin for makeup nicely.
It is said to have five uses – primer, moisturiser, cleanser, intensive overnight mask and aftershave. I don’t shave my face so I can’t comment on that, but I definitely wouldn’t use this as a cleanser – stick to your trusted best cleanser. However the three other uses? Tick, tick, tick.
It’s an ultra-light, lotion-like moisturizer that absorbs incredibly quickly. It’s worth saying that I have dry skin and my thirsty skin drinks it up willingly. You don’t need to use a lot, a little goes a long way. It’s not too rich and doesn’t leave any stickiness behind on the skin.
What it gives is a seriously dewy complexion that seems to even out the skin’s surface, even when I have a few blemishes. You might think that because it’s so light it won’t keep you hydrated all day, but you’d be wrong. My skin looks good even at that dreaded 4pm spot when everything tends to get a little sharp.
I really couldn’t recommend this cream enough, especially if you’re a makeup lover who wants to create a flawless base before applying your foundation.
At just £20, it’s also one of the best skincare products under £20. The brand also makes practical minis, I often take the 30ml tube on holiday as nothing hydrates my skin better when flying.
